Who is eligible for the green tick?
Meta's docs list five conditions: you follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, you've been on the WhatsApp Business Platform for at least 30 days, your business portfolio has passed Business Verification, two-step verification is on for the number, and its display name is approved. Meeting them makes you eligible, not approved.
Meta doesn't grant OBA status to business employees, test accounts or WhatsApp Business app numbers.
How do you apply for the green tick?
In WhatsApp Manager, open your phone number, turn on two-step verification if it isn't on, and submit a request under Profile, Official business account. Providers can also check the status through the API. Meta tells you its decision, and if the request is rejected you can apply again after 30 days.
Do you need the green tick to sell on WhatsApp?
No. Without it, your display name still shows to customers who save your number, and you get the full API, templates and automation. Meta notes that numbers without OBA status don't appear when people search inside WhatsApp, so the badge mainly helps people find and trust you.
Meanwhile, fill in your business profile: picture, description, email and website. You can edit these at any time.

Can I pay to get the green tick?
Not on the WhatsApp Business Platform: Meta grants OBA status after review. Meta Verified is a separate paid subscription with its own rules, so check Meta's own pages for what's offered to you. Be wary of anyone selling a guaranteed tick.
Why was my request rejected?
Meta reviews each request against its criteria and says the business doesn't meet them at this time. You can apply again after 30 days.
